Field visit
  • Kindu and SImret have had a field trip to Debre Birhan to see the progress of treelucern . Simret has interviewed some farmers for blog post

Capturing some scaling practices (Kindu and Peter )
  • Identify two-three things which needs to be captured for scaling
  • Digital green for wider publicity / intensive campaign
  • Comms team – identify one person/team member who could be part of this process, to support in the scaling
  • Research on Scaling – feeding mapping of the diffusion of technologies in the kebeles and beyond
  • Community seed production-another topic for scaling

Communication champions
  • We have champions at the woreda strategic IP
  • Zelalem has shared a document specifying the different communication tools identified for /by the IP
  • some of the tools are already been identified by the communication team : posters, short videos, photos , woreda specific brochures
  • it was pointed and discussed that we could use this champions and for that we may think about Capacity building?

Naming consistency
  1. People use different wording for sites,
  2. team members also use abbreviations on official documents : AR,CG
  3. it was suggested to have Africa RISING glossary: Simret to draft this

Possible support for Thesis on communication, Knowledge management ,social learning(Kindu )
Kindu shared with the team a proposal from one of our partners to do a thesis on communications, knowledge managment . it was suggested that this is a good idea but we need to tailor it to our demand. Peter B. has expressed his willingness to support in supervising the student

Knowledge center- this has bben on the discussion long time but not much has been done . it was suggested the site coordinator lead on the establishment . Simret agreed to develop concept note and share with the team


other action points
  • to have a quarterly project newsletter - to start with English and then see if translation is needed. this newsletter target the woreda
  • to have an Annual CD - knowledge product of the year- but this was suggested to come later when we have lots of publications to share
  • Kindu to share all the maps being produced to Simret and Peter B
